I think we all like to think we make a difference but I can only help individuals on a daily basis. The medical world in general does however have profound impacts on society.

I would like to think I have helped someone and affected their life in my work. I have received feedback thanking me for my help. To change societies, you have to start with changing individuals lives.

Yes I do think it does in some small way. especially where I work which is quite a deprived area of Nottingham – GPs are the one constant in a lot of people’s chaotic stressed lives and we can certainly make a difference over the years.
