I think a wider less damaging cure for cancer as a whole would be what most people would want. This would then reduce the fear of the treatment as well as hopefully improve recovery rates.

It’s not so much a medical breakthrough, but I would really like to see a change in attitudes from healthcare professionals and patients. We need to empower our patients to take more responsibility for their own health. That would be a massive breakthrough and make a real difference to health care. Hopefully, the more people know about their conditions and how to handle them, the better the results.

I would like to see a new class of antibiotics developed to help tackle the growing problem of antibiotic resistance.

More targeted chemotherapy for cancer – to improve treatments without the severe side effects we currently see sometimes.
